OGWA Omanexpo
Travel Guide

By Plane
There are international flights to Oman that arrive at the Seeb International Airport in Muscat, which are serviced by numerous airlines. There is also a regional airport in Salalah that offers flights from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

By Boat
Muscat has a port for cruise ships; however, there are no regular passenger services to Oman.

By Car
Oman has an excellent road network system that allows for smooth travel.  There are six border crossings from the UAE to Oman, and the drive takes about six hours.  You will need to produce an insurance if you are taking a car from the UAE as well as an international driving license.

By Bus
There are regular daily buses connecting the bigger cities (like Muscat, Salalah, Sohar, and Nizwa) within Oman.  There are taxis that will take you around the city for negotiated fares.  There are also call/telephone taxi services if you want a private service.

By Car
You could drive around in Oman with your own or rented car.

ATMs are easily accessible at the airport, and all over Muscat; however, not all of them accept foreign cards.

Shopping and Dining in Oman
There are a number of souks or markets, souvenir shops, and shopping malls in Oman.  Presently, there are several boutiques and retail outlets that carry foreign brands and labels.
There is also a wide range of dining places and restaurants in Oman.  While there are a number of restaurants that serve local fare (Arabic, Lebanese, Turkish and Indian), American fast food chains have, in recent years, entered the local food scene.

Hotel Accommodation
Oman offers an extensive range of accommodation—from budget hotels, holiday villas and resorts, to five-star hotels.  As Oman is targeting high-end tourists, it is building more hotels and resorts that cater to this market.
You could make your stay more comfortable and memorable by booking at the InterContinental Muscat, the Official Hotel of OGWA 2012.  Should you require assistance in booking arrangements for the duration of your stay in Muscat, you may email us at [email protected].

Visa Procedure
If you are a non-GCC national, a visa is required for entry in the Sultanate of Oman. The visa may be issued upon arrival or obtained in advance from Oman's diplomatic and commercial missions worldwide.

As part of the varied services we offer to all our exhibitors, we will take care of all matters relating to the
processing of your visa. This would enable you to concentrate more on your participation in OGWA 2012.
